What a UK liquidation truckload actually is

A liquidation truckload is a full trailer of merchandise a retailer or brand has taken out of its supply chain — customer returns, overstock that did not sell, and salvage-grade goods. It sells by the trailer rather than by the item, which is what pushes the cost per unit so far below wholesale.

The loads above are already in the United Kingdom. That is the part that matters. You are buying domestic stock from a UK-held position, not placing a container order and waiting on a sailing.

What we currently hold in the UK

Our UK position is deliberately narrow rather than broad. At the time of writing it runs across Amazon, Costway, AOSOM and Greenworks, spanning smalls, mediums and large mechanical goods, with grades from new through returns down to salvage.

  • Amazon — new toy loads and processed fulfilment centre smalls, both at 24 pallets.
  • Greenworks — battery-powered outdoor power equipment returns. Mowers, trimmers, chainsaws, pressure washers and the battery packs that fit across the range.
  • AOSOM — garden furniture, pet housing and outdoor living, in returns and salvage grades.
  • Costway — home, garden and leisure returns at 23 pallets.

Stock moves, so treat the grid above as the live list rather than this paragraph. If what you want is not showing, tell us what you are after and we will let you know when it lands.

Why buying in the UK beats importing

Plenty of UK resellers buy American loads because the headline price looks better. Sometimes it is. Often the landed cost tells a different story once you add ocean freight, customs clearance, a broker’s fee, port charges, inland haulage from the port and the six-to-ten weeks your capital is tied up in a box on the water.

Buying a load that is already here removes that entire layer. There is no import duty on the purchase because nothing is being imported, no customs entry to file, no broker to appoint, and no demurrage risk if a container sits. VAT is handled as an ordinary domestic sale, which for a VAT-registered buyer is a cash-flow question rather than a cost. Confirm your own position with your accountant rather than taking a supplier’s word for it.

One thing to watch: UK and European trailers are built to different dimensions than American ones, so a UK load carries fewer pallets — typically 15 to 24 rather than a flat 24. Compare loads on cost per pallet, not cost per load, or you will talk yourself out of a good buy.

Who buys UK liquidation loads

Bin store operators restocking weekly, market and car boot traders, eBay and Vinted sellers, live sellers on Whatnot and Tilt, discount and clearance shops, and garden centres taking seasonal outdoor stock. Larger buyers break loads down and sell on by the pallet to smaller resellers.

The salvage-grade loads are a different animal and suit a narrower buyer — someone with repair capability, a parts operation, or an auction room that can move damaged and unboxed goods at volume.

Before you buy your first load

  • Work out your unloading before you order. A full trailer needs a forklift or a crew. A domestic driveway is not a delivery point.
  • Know your storage. Twenty-plus pallets is more space than most people picture. Garden furniture and mechanical goods eat floor area fast.
  • Read the grade, not the brand. A salvage AOSOM load and a returns AOSOM load are different products at different prices for good reason.
  • Budget your time, not just your money. Returns loads need sorting, testing and listing. That labour is the real cost for most first-time buyers.

If you are new to this, our beginner’s guide to buying liquidation truckloads covers the process end to end, and 12 essential terms every UK reseller should know will stop you nodding along to jargon in a supplier call. Before you commit to anything manifested, learn how to read a manifest properly.

UK liquidation FAQ

Is this stock already in the UK? +
Yes. Every load listed on this page is held in the United Kingdom and ships domestically. You are not importing, so there is no customs entry, no broker and no waiting on a container.
Do I pay import duty? +
Not on these loads, because nothing crosses a border — it is a domestic UK sale. VAT applies as it would on any domestic purchase. Check your own VAT position with your accountant rather than relying on a supplier.
Why do UK loads have fewer pallets? +
Trailer dimensions differ between the UK and the United States, so a UK load typically runs 15 to 24 pallets against a flat 24 on an American trailer. Compare cost per pallet rather than cost per load when you are weighing them up.
What condition will the goods be in? +
It depends entirely on the grade, and each load above states it. New loads are unused stock in retail packaging. Returns loads are a mix — some untouched, some opened, some genuinely broken. Salvage is the lowest grade and carries the highest proportion of damaged and unboxed goods, which is why it is priced the way it is.
Do you deliver across the whole UK? +
Yes, mainland UK delivery is arranged on every load. Tell us the load and your postcode and we will quote the haulage properly rather than guessing at it.
Can I buy a single pallet instead of a full load? +
These programmes are sold by the trailer. If you are not ready for a full load, get in touch and tell us what you are looking for — we would rather point you somewhere sensible than sell you more than you can move.
Is there a manifest? +
It varies by programme. Some loads are manifested down to the item, others are sold unmanifested at a lower price. Ask before you buy — it changes both the risk and what the load is worth to you.
